Hi Heather,
If you keep an eye on digital marketing news, you will likely have seen lots of talk about Google disabling 3rd party cookies in the Chrome browser by the end of 2024. This is a flow on from the privacy changes emanating from the EU several years ago.
Google is one of the slowest of the large technology companies to act to improve privacy for its users, but given that approximately 65% of all browsing across the world is performed using the Google Chrome browser, it is expected to have a significant impact.
If you would like to understand 3rd party cookies, and why it has taken Google several years to switch them off, please refer to the Contactpoint blog: Zero Party Data instead of 3rd Party Cookies.
One outcome of these changes is that digital marketers are rushing to make better use of what is referred to as "Owned Assets". A great example of an owned marketing asset is your email / sms contact database, housed in your Enudge account! Enudge has been all about using your owned assets well, forever. :-)
To explore how Enudge helps you use your owned marketing assets better, we have written an article entitled: "Using Owned Assets to Enhance your Marketing: The impact of the removal of 3rd Party Cookies".
