Keeping your contact data up-to-date
Hi Heather,
Happy New Year! We are looking forward to a great 2023. What better than starting the year well with accurate customer data and an exciting communication plan for engaging with your audience?
The data you hold about your customers is an important asset, which can change on a regular basis. Changes can occur to addresses, reference numbers as well as custom information. If you segment your contacts based on their location for example, it is important to keep address fields such as 'State', 'Postcode' etc. up-to-date, to ensure effective segmentation.
It is also important to keep contact information current if you personalise your messages using that information.
We recommend undertaking the following actions to keep your database up-to-date:
- Upload new information. If you have information not supported by specific Enudge fields, use one of the 15 custom fields to store it.
- Update existing information.
- Remove unused Categories.
- Assign contacts to new Categories to help improve segmentation. There is no limit to the number of categories each contact can be attached to.
- Review your Bounced list to ensure contacts have not been incorrectly bounced.
